Common Purpose

Founded in 1985, Common Purpose is an organisation the purpose of which is increasingly being questioned by those who wonder just why Br*tain is quite as whacky and authoritarian as it is these days. This video about the activities and influence of Common Purpose, a 'charity' that seems routinely to break the law with impunity, selectively recruits its members from the upper echelons of government, the Civil Service, armed forces, local authorities, regional development agencies, police forces and business and industry, and takes great care to keep its activities, at the tax payers expense, secret, provides food for thought.
It's lengthy but worth watching, although some of the lecturer Brian Gerrish's claims may seem far-fetched and his language a little alarmist to those inclined to dismiss 'conspiracy theories' out of hand, often because uninformed cynicism is fashionable:

It may all be a paranoid fantasy but we can lose nothing by looking a little deeper and asking some probing questions: Those with nothing to hide have nothing to fear, have they?

Gruff thanks to Harry Hook, at The Final Redoubt, for the link.

Blimey. This does explain a lot, doesn't it?

It may, and it may not.

Even if it explains nothing it reminds us of one consideration: We cannot trust anyone who has ever worn a uniform (as once, unthinkingly, we used) simply because they have and we must not regard everyone who has ever worn a uniform as untrustworthy (as lately many have been conditioned unthinkingly to).

It may be the deluded fantasy of a frustrated madman but much that is otherwise inexplicable slips easily into place when the EU and the Communist Party (or the Nazi Party - the real one not those morons who profess Nazism that would have been liquidated by the Nazis without a second thought) are juxtaposed. If the parts of a jigsaw fit together the picture is complete.

Those who cannot believe the evidence set before them can believe nothing, and deserve all that comes to them.

Unfortunately those of us who do believe what we see before us suffer too, but that is the grist to another mill.

I googled Common Purpose, went to their website and within half an hour I discovered that an address .pol.uk had looked at my blog. I'm not paranoid: they are following us.

I don't think anyone who is suspicious of Common Purpose is paranoid; I was merely anticipating possible objections to the film, as I do not doubt you were aware. I think that Common Purpose is a minor parasite when compared to the more immediate danger presented by the idea of the EU but the organisation is no less dangerous to what might be termed the English body politic because, like all successful parasites, it recognises the opportunity for proliferation that is offered by a virus with more chance of success.
